Ezekiel 35

Ezekiel 35

Edom magnified themselves and their words against Jehovah (v13), “As a nation set with relentless hatred against the truth and people of God and so doomed to utter destruction.” (Fairbairn). They were pre-eminent among the nations (Isaiah 34 and 63) for this spiteful hatred but typical of all the heathen. They represent all the reprobate while Israel are the elect. Flesh versus Spirit (see also Romans 9). Their destiny is utter destruction. They are no longer a nation and the area in which they lived is a barren rocky wilderness to this day (see pictures).
